2 Quinton Speed, <i>Letter written by Quinton Speed to Byrd C. McKay</i> (Personal Letter/dated 15 Feb 1965). The Bible Record is quoted in a letter to Mr. Byrd C. McKay,
1816 Ross Place, Albuquerque, NM, from Quinton Speed, Hattiesburg, MS,
dated 15 Feb, 1965. The Bible belonged to his great-grandparents. It states:
Robert Speed, born the 26th. day of October, 1763, sons and daughters of
Robert Speed were,
William Speed born the 24th day of Jany, 1783
Rebecca Speed born the 16th. day of November, 1788
John Speed born the 25th day of August,1791
Elizabeth Speed born the 26th day of January, 1794
James Speed born the 19th day of May, 1795
Wade Speed born the 18th day of March, 1796
Terrell Speed born the 10th day of March, 1799
Sarah Speed born the 1st day of November, 1802

Quinton further states that his grandfather was William Martin Speed, b. 15
May, 1852, d. 4 May, 1932. He reared eight sons; Lee, John, Van, Wash,
Fate, Martin and Robert Speed. All dec. at the letter date except Walter,
78 years old, and Robert, 75 years old. Quinton's father was Martin Speed,
b. 1879 & d. 1942.
