District No. 4 Houses: Inhabited
34, Uninhabited 3 Persons who abode
therein: Male 105, Female 95 Total Number of
Persons 200 Total Number of
distinct families 33 Remarks of
schoolmaster or other Person appointed to divide the Parish by the Sheriff or
Provost. I am not aware of
any peculiarity connected with the population of this parish. A few young persons are at present in other
parishes as servants etc., but I consider an equal number from other parishes
are at present similarly engaged in this.
12 persons have left for the colonies within the last six months. J.C. (John Carleton, Schoolmaster) Notes: Sometimes the
enumerator noted the exact age, other times he rounded it to the nearest five
as was usual with the 1841 Census. Where I believe it
to be a new family at the same place name, I have separated it by a line
space. Some place names
were difficult to read, and some were just misspelled. I wrote it as I found it. Where no
employment is noted, no employment was given. |
